yesterday I met up with the ‘S’ family and had a blast doing their family session. ‘E’ did lots of showing off for which provided me with great opportunities for some fantastic candid shots. mom & dad made my job very easy by giving me some space with ‘E’ and allowing me to interact with him one on one. I find this really important during sessions as kids tend to get more nervous or frustrated when parents do the “say cheese”, “look at the camera”, “smile!” routine. it’s an automatic response for most people when the camera comes out, but doesn’t usually achieve the kind of beautiful, natural smiles and honest faces that you want to see in your child’s images. something to keep in mind the next time you have photos taken of your family (or even taking pics of your kids yourself). thanks ‘S’ family for a great day – enjoy your teasers!
