On August 12th, 2014 at around noon, I received a phone call from my sister. It was time. My first niece (I have 3 nephews already) was ready to enter the world and join her Mom, Dad and big brother. It was also time for me to do something that has been on my photographer bucket list since I started my business…birth photography.
I was both excited & nervous as I packed up my gear, arranged care for my 2 daughters, and took off for Langley Memorial Hospital. I was especially nervous because I broke my ankle on July 2 and was still using crutches. What if I didn’t capture the shots I wanted? What if me and my crutches were totally in the way of the doctors & nurses? What if my sister changed her mind at the last minute about birth photography?
I needn’t have worried!

After a short, intense labour, my beautiful, brave sister gave birth to my gorgeous niece Huxley.
