On Monday I had an adorable birthday girl in my studio for cake smash. Miss J made me a bit nervous when I realized she was afraid of my camera. She cried whenever I pointed it in her direction, so instead of doing the clean portion of the session at the beginning, we went straight for the cake. There’s nothing like a sweet treat and free reign to be destructive to improve a toddler’s mood (at least temporarily).
Once Miss J got going, she loved getting messy. Her cake was squished, smashed, thrown, & stepped on; everything I hope for in a cake smash. My own daughters came down to the studio to cheer her on (and sneak some delicious cake) and the birthday girl chattered, squealed & giggled as she destroyed.
