every minute of every hour of every day is made up of moments. they may be fleeting, lingering, frustrating, joyful or ignored, but they are there making up our days; making up our lives. I LOVE capturing moments! I especially love capturing moments between parent & child. to be able to hand a parent a still shot in time of something ordinary made incredible is my ultimate goal and the reason I do what I do. As parents we go about our days rushing here & there, making snacks & lunches, finding lost toys and doing laundry. Day in and day out we read stories, hug away fears & give bedtime kisses and it’s ordinary to us…routine. Have you ever thought about what those moments actually mean to the little ones receiving the praise for dunking their head at the swimming pool or the cuddle when they’re afraid of the dark? To them every bit of the time we give them is received eagerly & excitedly.
This is my sister & my nephew. While I was changing my camera lens during their Christmas mini session yesterday, I noticed they were having a snuggly, giggly moment together. I’ve never snapped on a lens so fast before and I’m so glad I did. Giving this image to my sister that illustrates so clearly the love & bond she shares with her son will be the highlight of her session. She’ll have lots of fun, playful shots to choose from for their Christmas card but this is the image that will bring tears to her eyes.
