Dear Moms,
Remember the days when you could drop everything and go out for spur of the moment drinks with friends? How you were able to shower every morning and pee without tiny fists banging on the door? There were heels instead of sneakers and skirts instead of yoga pants. Your trunk contained a bag for the beach or the gym instead of a stroller and soccer balls. Weekends were for sleeping in. Remember that thing called disposable income? Regular meals out? Personal space?
You know those days when you feel like you’re falling apart or going crazy from the noisy, chaos that kids bring? When you think you’ve yelled too much, can’t catch up, and have lost every ounce of patience? You know those days when you don’t have time to put on makeup, you wear yesterday’s clothes, the baby’s crying, the kids are fighting and you just want to cry?
I know. It’s hard! Being a Mom is hard!
But…
Remember that time that you were crying and a chubby pair of little arms wrapped around you? Remember when that sweet little voice said “I love you Mommy!”
It’s SO worth it! There are giggles, gummy smiles, snuggles, games, silliness, new discoveries, wonder, joy, honesty and more love than we ever knew existed. I hope you already know this but just in case I want to tell you that…
You. Are. Amazing. You are everything. You are love. You are safety. You are compassion and understanding. You are strength and courage. You are encouragement. You are stability. You are Mom! Here’s to you!
Happy Mother’s Day!
