Ayla newborn session

Meet lovely little Ayla.  I was honoured to be a part of Ayla’s first few days of life.  She had control of her photo shoot right from the beginning of our session.  Ayla did not want to lay her fingers flat for me and although I soothed, swaddled, and waited until she was in a deep sleep, she resisted.  It’s ok though.  This beautiful girl already has a mind of her own and curled up fingers is what she likes.

Miss A had a mind of her own right from the beginning.  She came into the world a week early in the front seat of her parent’s car as they were on their way to the hospital. (in minus 1 degree weather)   Her Mama delivered Ayla herself as Dad pulled over and Grandma jumped out of the back seat.   I was amazed at the tale I heard as I was carefully posing this sweet girl for her photos.  Thank goodness her Daddy was calm (he was on the phone with 911), her Mommy was brave (she gave birth in the car!!!!)  and her Grandma is a quick thinker (she tucked Ayla in her warm coat right right away and made sure Ayla’s airway was clear).  Even her gender was a dramatic reveal as her Mama was convinced she was having a boy.   Does a dramatic birth mean that Miss A is going to be a dramatic girl?  I hope so!  I have one of those and they are a blast (and super fun to photograph!)  Whoever this sweet girl grows up to be, she’s sure to be amazing!  Congratulations Elissa, Craig and big brother Hunter!
